Our pack leader, Tara Moses, started For Dog’s Sake! because she
knows that in order to be healthy, happy, and balanced, dogs need daily exercise.
Tara also knows that many dog owners require help to meet the daily exercise
needs of their furry friends. Tara knew she could fulfill both these needs
by starting a professional dog walking service.
We've all heard the saying, "A Good Dog is a Tired Dog!" Nothing could be more true!
Tara managed The Puppy Zone Dog Day Care and Adventure Centre in the resort of Whistler for two years and worked directly with over 2000 different dogs. She learned many lessons from these dogs, the most important being that every dog has its own personality and every dog is special.
Tara has trained many dogs using positive reinforcement. Her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, which focused on the study of animal behaviour, helps her understand how dogs think and why they behave the way they do.
Tara's passion for dogs began at five years old when her family got their first English Cocker Spaniel. Since then, her passion has only grown motivating her participation in many canine activities including flyball, agility, clicker training, obedience, and conformation. She currently proudly owns and handles a titled agility dog, Simon.
Tara respects dogs! She provides compassionate, pawsitive care for your beloved pets.
Tara promises each and every one of her clients the best care for their pets. Knowing dogs are vital members of our families, she knows how important safety and trust is when it comes to pet care services.
We recently added an active 2 year old dog from a rescue society to our family. We worried that our long workdays would interfere with her ability to adjust to her new life with us and slow down the progress we were making in her training. We were so happy to find dog walking services in the Comox Valley. I met with Tara and instantly knew she was a dog person—she knew just how to relate to our two dogs.
Knowing the dogs were being checked in on and walked during the day provided great piece of mind. I returned home each night to find them both very contented and it was clear that our new addition was gaining confidence in her daily walk adventures. The report cards left by Tara were detailed and humorous--it was obvious by the comments provided that our dogs were expressing their true personalities to her. We hope to use Tara's services for a long time to come.
